How to read your result

Net WPM is the headline: characters from correct words, divided by five, per minute. Raw WPM counts everything, right or wrong. Key accuracy is the share of keystrokes that matched the target letter.

Raw 20 points above net? Slow down by 10% for a week. Your net score will usually rise because you stop throwing away whole words. The WPM calculator shows the maths with your own numbers.

Which round length?

  • 15s — pure burst speed. Good for warming up.
  • 30s — sprint pace with a little stamina.
  • 60s — the standard benchmark most sites and job tests quote.
  • 120s — exposes fatigue and rhythm breaks.

Questions players ask

Is Word Blitz a 1 minute typing test?

Yes. The default round is 60 seconds, and you can switch to 15, 30 or 120 seconds. It reports net WPM, raw WPM and key accuracy, the same numbers a standard one-minute typing test gives.

What is the difference between net and raw WPM?

Raw (gross) WPM counts everything you typed, divided by five and by minutes. Net WPM counts only the characters of words you got right. If the two are far apart, accuracy is costing you more than speed.

Do I have to fix mistakes?

No. In Word Blitz a mistyped word is simply marked wrong when you press space, and it earns nothing. That mirrors most online typing tests and keeps the pace high.

What do Easy, Medium and Hard change?

The word list. Easy uses common words of two to five letters, Medium four to eight letters, Hard seven letters and up. All are drawn from the most frequent words in English.

Is my personal best saved?
